The Contracts team is responsible for contract and agreement management, including negotiating, drafting, and modifying various agreement types, including fee-for-service agreements, data use agreements, confidentiality agreements, and more, for university review and approval.
SoE has many projects that offer fee-for-service products and services that support UW–Madison’s mission of instruction, research, and public service. Fee-for-service activities in SoE include educational products, evaluation services, language assessments, learning games, mentor training, and career development services. The Contracts team liaises between our projects, campus, and sponsors throughout the negotiation process. The team collaborates with the Office of Legal Affairs and Research & Sponsored Programs to implement university contracts, monitor intellectual property issues, and guide colleagues on contractual and risk considerations and perspectives. In addition to negotiating agreements, the team oversees and assists with aspects of contract compliance.
