Chris Birke

Chris Birke is a research administrator in the SoE Office of Research & Scholarship. He started at WCER in 2015 as a financial specialist, navigating the center’s faculty and staff through travel reimbursements and the associated policies and procedures. In 2019, Chris joined the WCER Grants team and was welcomed into the world of research administration. Chris assists faculty and staff in applying for both federal and non-federal grants and provides pre- and post-award support for projects administered by WCER.

Born in Chicago and raised in Madison, Chris attended St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. After graduating, he worked in project management, business operations and accounting roles in Green Bay, WI. Chris returned home to Madison in October 2015 to begin working with the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
