Katie Grant joined SoE in August 2024.
Before coming to UW-Madison, she served as Communications Director at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Katie began working in the DNR’s award-winning Office of Communications in August 2018 and also served as Digital Communications Section Manager during her time there.
She got her start in communications through her own business of teaching coaches to build their social media presence and has worked in various industries, including non-profit events, restaurants and grocery stores.
She has served as vice president and Midwest council member for Government Social Media Leadership Council and has a Bachelor of Arts from UW-Madison in Spanish Language and Hispanic Studies.
Katie’s communications background focuses on organic social media strategy and community engagement, marketing strategy, and crisis communications. She excels in executing forward-thinking, long-term strategies that get results and has experience amplifying social media reach and engagement across various industries.
