Join AERA attendees April 14–18, 2027, in Toronto, Canada, for the world’s largest gathering of education researchers. Centered on the theme, “Transcending Borders and Boundaries in Education Research: Toward a Beloved Global Community,” the 2027 annual meeting will bring together scholars from around the globe to exchange ideas, build new collaborations, and advance education research.
Whether you are presenting new findings, leading a session or engaging with colleagues across disciplines, the annual meeting offers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase your work and contribute to important conversations shaping the future of the field.
Submissions are welcomed from across the full range of education research and related disciplines. Please note that proposals submitted to divisions, special interest groups or committees are not required to align with the annual meeting theme.

- Log in to the submission page with your re:Members credentials.
- If you do not remember your credentials, select “Forgot Password?” If you are a new user, select “Create an Account.”
- Once logged in, select “Submit or Edit a Paper, an Application or Presentation” from the Submitter menu.

To support compliance with evolving federal research security requirements, UW–Madison has launched a new Research Security Training module in Workday’s Learning Management System. The training provides an overview of key research security requirements, including disclosure obligations, international collaborations, and safeguarding federally funded research. It is required for all covered individuals involved in federally funded research, including principal investigators and senior/key personnel.
As demand for AI tools and services continues to grow, it’s more important than ever to understand the data we plan to input into these tools. Safe and appropriate use starts with a simple but critical question: What is the classification of the data I’m about to put into AI? To address this challenge — and to streamline the classification process — UW–Madison will transition to a new data classification policy and framework on Jan. 1, 2027. If your team would like a dedicated presentation on this process, reach out to Lisa Johnston, data governance director for Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research.
The Mentoring to Achieve Research Independence (MATRIX) program is seeking mentees and coaches for its 2026 cohort. MATRIX is an intensive, nine-month mentoring program designed to help faculty mentees successfully write and submit their first National Institutes of Health R01 Research Project Grant or equivalent. Applications for mentees and coaches from across campus are due Aug. 15. A previous mentee from the School of Education says: “I’m super grateful for all the support MATRIX provided during the program. I am very confident my award would not have been funded without the input from my coaches and MATRIX leaders.” Apply on the MATRIX website.
The resource RSP by the Numbers provides a high-level view of selected Research and Sponsored Programs activity, including proposal, award, agreement, financial/award management, and other sponsored projects metrics. The page is intended to increase visibility into sponsored projects activity and provide a centralized location for exploring key data. The information is provided for transparency and general awareness and does not capture every factor that may influence timing, complexity or workload.
While available for some time, this page continues to evolve as part of a broader effort to expand access to sponsored projects data. The Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration office expects to refine content and add new metrics and views over time. The page is envisioned as a resource where users can review available metrics and apply filters to better understand activity across different areas of research administration.
